When I came to Rock im Park for the first time, I was very shocked at messy ground.
It was much different from Japanese music festivals.
Why everyone throw rubbish around? German is environmentally-advanced country, isn't it?
I think partly because too few litter boxes, a matter of difference in national character and there are other reasons.
Or music festival is "anything goes" in general?
I have been to Rock Werchter in Belgium and it was in much the same state as RIP.
Everyone feel nothing looking at rubbish on the ground at rock music festivals?

For your information, Fuji Rock festival in Japan the NGO group(over 200 volunteers) navigate rubbish separation and distribute litter bags.

They never pick up. Volunteers, visitors, staffs and all who are there keep festival grounds clean.
Paper cups and plastic bottles are recycled and transformed into next year's toilet roll and litter bags and staff jackets.
